Proposed Improvements for Illinois Highways FY 2007 Introduction

The Fiscal Year 2007 Highway Improvement Program provides $1.975 billion of the
$10.425 billion included in the FY 2007-2012 Proposed Highway Improvement Program.

The FY 2007 program will be financed by an estimated $1.167 billion of federal funds,
$689 million of state funds and $119 million of local funds. Nearly $1.378 billion is for projects on the state highway system and $597 million is for projects on local streets
and highway systems.

A total of 597 miles of highways and 255 bridges will be constructed or improved through
the FY 2007 program. Safety and traffic improvements at 139 locations are scheduled.
