International Association of Continuing Education and Training

Effective August 19, 2003, the Department of Transportation received certification by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) to be an authorized provider of continuing education.  This certification is one more step towards making DOT the premier state transportation agency in the nation.

The agency will review each training program to ensure quality and consistency throughout the Department.  The Office of Finance and Administration, Bureau of Employee Services will assist all entities involved to assure that the training curriculum meets with IACET standards.

The Department invests heavily in the continuing education and development of its employees.  IACET certification helps the Department achieve several of its strategic objectives and initiatives including consistent internal communications that ensure all training programs meet the highest standards.  The certification establishes measurable learning outcomes within all targeted training programs and provides a benchmark for training excellence.  Continuing education units will assist Engineers with meeting their licensing requirement and should attract, develop and retain a diverse quality workforce.
