US 67

US 67 bridge over the Illinois River at Beardstown will be constructed as part of the US 67 two lane to 4 lane expansion. CSS was utilized for the new US 67 Bridge Type Study as well as for aesthetic enhancements at the US 67/IL 125 interchange which will serve as a gateway to Beardstown. This will be constructed as part of the US 67 two lane to four lane expansion.

The public and local officials were offered input into some aesthetic design elements of the proposed structure, which will enhance their planned waterfront development. Additionally, the City is now behind the project with support for the new bridge as well as beautification landscaping at the interchange, which will serve as the primary gateway to the City. In selecting bridge type, economics was the primary concern for IDOT and aesthetics was a primary concern for stakeholders. Fortunately, while working together, the lowest cost option turned out to be the preferred bridge type satisfying both IDOT and the stakeholders.
