| Dixon, IL -- The Illinois Department of Transportation,
located in Dixon, announces a Public Informational Open House
to be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2004, from 3:30 p.m. to
6:00 p.m. at the Freeport Public Library, 100 East Douglas,
Freeport, Illinois. IDOT construction staff will be on hand
to discuss the improvements being made to US Business 20 from
Clark Street to South Street in Freeport. The project includes
pavement removal and replacement, improvement of side roads
and angle of intersection, signal light modernization, construction
of new curb, gutter and sidewalk, and improved drainage throughout.
The purpose of the Open House is to:
- Discuss project staging and time frames
- Discuss side street closures
- Discuss current detour route
- View displays
- Discuss construction details
- Meet project staff
- Answer public comments
- Obtain public comments and input
The $6.5 million reconstruction project that began earlier
this month is scheduled to be completed by December of 2005.
Civil Constructors, Inc. of Illinois is the prime contractor
for the project. Everyone is invited to attend.
