Stevenson Expressway (I-55) Widening Project Will County

Dear Motorist:

As you may know, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has completed the advance work for the I-55 Corridor Improvement Project. This is a major project and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

We are asking for your cooperation this spring as we begin the next stage of construction starting March 3, 2008 weather permitting. This stage of construction, from Weber Road to South of I-80, will include resurfacing the existing roadway, building a third lane, and installing a median barrier wall. I am confident IDOT will make this process as smooth as possible.

IDOT realizes that construction can pose an inconvenience for the traveling public. Please know that we are cognizant of the work taking place throughout the region and the impact it may have on commuters. It is our intent to make certain that you are kept apprised of all work being done in your area by IDOT.

This construction will help mitigate congestion by allowing us all to enjoy a safer, smoother, and wider Stevenson Expressway.
