SCHAUMBURG, IL -- Road construction will
resume on LaGrange Road (U.S. 45) in the southwest suburbs
on February 28, weather permitting.
Traffic on LaGrange Road will be reduced to one lane in
each direction roughly from Route 83 to north of Archer
Avenue. The eastbound Archer Avenue ramp to northbound La
Grange Road is scheduled to be closed beginning in late
March through mid-May. Traffic will detour north on Willow
Springs Road to Joliet Road east to
La Grange Road.
The $53.1 million project involves the reconstruction of a
4.2 mile section of LaGrange Road from Archer Avenue (IL
171) to the Cal Sag Channel. Improvements include complete
pavement removal and replacement with the addition of
shoulders, barrier median wall and highway lighting. Other
improvements include turn lanes at the 95th Street and 111th
Street intersections. The interchange at Archer Avenue will
also be rebuilt.
This is the second year of the two year construction
project. Last year’s work involved pavement reconstruction
north of 87th Street to Archer Avenue.
The construction project is a joint venture between Lorig
Construction and Lindahl Brothers of Des Plaines. Work is
scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2004.
