SCHAUMBURG – Spring has brought the return of
closures of side streets along U.S. 6 in Channahon.
Contractors have resumed drainage work,
necessitating these closures during working hours. Flaggers will
also be directing traffic around storm sewer construction
locations. The work is part of the continuing project begun last
summer, to add lanes, and install new traffic signals and
highway lighting.
The Village of Channahon will be notified two days
before any closures take place. Changeable message signs will
mark effected streets. The project is expected to be completed
by late July of 2004.
The contractor is Sjostrom & Sons of Rockford ,
Illinois .
