SPRINGFIELD, IL -- New highway maps for 2003-2004
are now available to the public, the Illinois Department of
Transportation has announced.
"We are printing our standard highway map, and because of its
popularity, we are again offering a large print edition of the map,"
said Timothy W. Martin, Illinois Transportation Secretary.
Hundreds of small updates have been added to the map, including
updates to highway projects underway throughout the state and
updating the listing of state parks. One million of the large print
maps and 1.75 million of the regular print maps will be available
for free distribution.
The map cover is a picture of a county highway crossing
Interstate 72 just north of Curran in Sangamon County. "The
tranquility of the county highway, the wildflowers growing along the
road, and the farmers fields show the beauty of Illinois waiting for
everyone to explore," Martin added.
Individuals can
request maps online or by writing to:

Maps will also be available at Interstate Welcome Centers, and
