TRAFFIC ADVISORY

PEORIA, IL -- Traffic on Interstate 74 through Peoria will be stopped periodically during the night on Tuesday (June 4) and Wednesday (June 5) between University and Glendale to permit removal of steel beams for a bridge reconstruction project.

Motorists are advised that the interstate will be completely closed to traffic for up to 20 minutes at a time throughout the night beginning at 6:00 p.m. and continuing through 6:00 a.m. each evening. Motorists should expect 30 to 45 minute delays, and are strongly encouraged to use Interstate 474 around Peoria.

Workers will be removing steel beams of the North Street bridge over I-74, which is being reconstructed as part of the I-74 rehabilitation through Peoria and East Peoria.
