SPRINGFIELD, IL -- The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking consultants for 17 highway projects across the state. Pre-qualified consultants will be selected on January 21, 2004. Statements of interest are due November 20, 2003.

The projects are:

1. DISTRICT 1, engineering services for the removal and partial replacement of the bridge over B&O railroad and Stony Creek.
2. DISTRICT 1, engineering services to develop traffic signal coordination and timing (SCAT) at various closed-loop systems.
3. DISTRICT 1, engineering services for preparing drainage studies and hydraulic reports.
4. JODAVIESS, engineering services for the proposed US 20 freeway and new alignment from west of the existing intersection of US 20 and IL 84. Northeast of Galena to existing US 20 Mount Hope Road south east of Galena.
5. DISTRICT 3, engineering services on various projects throughout the district.
6. KANKAKEE/IROQUOIS, engineering services for the removal and replacement of the structure over Wiley Creek on IL 113 and the structure over Louis Creek on US 45.
7. PEORIA/TAZWELL, construction inspection for Contract 5 of major reconstruction project of I-74 in Peoria.
8. DISTRICT 4, preparation of geotechnical reports for various location in the district.
9. DISTRICT 5, construction inspection on various projects throughout the district.
10. DISTRICT 6, engineering services on various projects throughout the district.
11. DISTRICT 6, perform miscellaneous surveys for various projects throughout the district.
12. DISTRICT 6, engineering services on various projects throughout the district.
13. SCHUYLER, preparation of plans for one construction contract to include the grading of the proposed US 67/US24 interchange area.
14. DISTRICTS 2, 3, 4, 5, engineering services to develop traffic signal coordination and timing (SCAT) for various traffic signal and traffic signal systems.
15. DISTRICTS 6, 7, 8, 9 engineering services to develop traffic signal coordination and timing (SCAT) for various traffic signal and traffic signal systems.
16. STATEWIDE, perform detailed inspections of overhead sign structures and prepare inspection reports.
17. STATEWIDE, perform a feasibility study to evaluate the existing bicycle system and establish prioritized listings of improvements for each district.
