IDOT and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (Tollway)
have contracted with Mason Tillman Associates, Ltd. (MTA), a national public
policy firm, to conduct an availability
analysis of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) and a disparity study
(study) of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Female Business Enterprises
(FBEs) in the Illinois highway, Toll highway, and airport construction
contracting and design services industries.
IDOT’s Office of Small Business Services will be publishing two Request for Proposals (RFPs) within the next few weeks seeking qualified vendors with experience in Illinois’ transportation-related construction industry who can provide management assistance (the RFP will cover Districts 4 - 9) and technical assistance (the RFP will cover Districts 1 - 9) to its Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs).
If you are interested in submitting a proposal, the RFPs will be posted on the Illinois Department of Central Management Services’ Illinois Procurement Bulletin (IPB),
http://www.purchase.state.il.us, for a minimum of 14 days.
The Department will hold a vendor’s conference during the IPB posting period to
explain the process for submitting a proposal, the technical requirements of the
proposed contract, and to answer any questions raised by vendors.
The Office of Small Business Service’s Bureau of Small Business Enterprises would like to announce that in today’s
Federal Register, the United States Department of Transportation adjusted the size caps for firms participating in the ACDBE (airport concessions DBE Program) and DBE programs under 49 CFR Parts 23 and 26, and the adjustments are effective immediately (April 3, 2009). The ACDBE Program size cap was adjusted from $47,780,000 to $52,470,000 and the DBE Program size cap was adjusted from $20,410,000 to $22,410,000.
