Strategies for Transportation Planning, Coordination and Finance
- Maintain a state-local process to coordinate highway program planning in
metropolitan areas.
- Provide a public involvement and public information process to ensure
opportunities for early input highway program planning.
- Cooperate in the planning and funding of Operation GreenLight, a multi-modal
plan for reducing congestion in northeastern Illinois.
- Support a funding structure that provides assistance to local governments
for highways under their jurisdiction, including needy counties and townships
and high growth cities and counties.
