What is the scope of this project?

IDOT's scope for this project is to enhance the transportation system within Whiteside County to facilitate the safe and efficient flow traffic throughout this region. To improve the safety and mobility of the roadway, it is anticipated that additional lanes will be required along a new or somewhat different alignment, a new routing around Morrison and/or possibly interchanges along the improvement. Due to the significant size of the project study area, there are many social, economic, and environmental issues to address in developing these enhancements. To accomplish the task of providing an enhanced transportation system and addressing various issues throughout the project area, IDOT is implementing an approach to public involvement consistent with their Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) guidelines. These guidelines were established to ensure a high level of public involvement in the project study process.
