Revisions to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Rates
The Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) provides in part that the
contractor, subcontractors, etc. shall pay to all labors, workers and mechanics
performing work under the contract, not less than the prevailing rate of wages
as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor. Illinois Department of Labor
publishes the rates on the internet at
www.state.il.us/agency/idol/. The contractor shall prominently post the
current Schedule of Prevailing Wages at the project site and shall require all
of its subcontractors to be aware of and pay the prevailing rate of wages.
